Addis Ethiopian

Addis serves traditional Ethiopian food in San Diego, located at 3643 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA 92104. It's a cozy, family-run establishment. Even though the operation is small, owners Fekad and Alem manage to keep their customers happy and returning with their commitment to delicious, authentic food.

Opened by an immigrant Ethiopian family, Addis is an homage to their roots. The food is never rushed and the flavors are authentic, using spices and ingredients sourced from Ethiopia. Whether you’re new to Ethiopian food or looking for a taste of home yourself, Addis promises to deliver a delicious, homey experience.

Our goal was to communicate the wonderful story behind the food that was delivering 5 star reviews online. After getting to know the business owners, it was clear that Addis as a brand was homey, classic and communal.

Deep jewel tones drawn from Ethiopian flag colors were used to connect to heritage. A hand drawn serif style font was used to allude to longstanding tradition.

A mesob (communal table and bread basket) was incorporated in the full logomark upon request of the business owners.
